HOUSES OF PARLIAMENT FRAMEWORK

HOUSE OF COMMONS AND LORDS

Picture
Acanthus Clews Architects have been recently appointed as Architects and Lead Consultants to the prestigious Architects and Conservation Architects framework in support of The Parliamentary Estate, which incorporates the Palace of Westminster, a Grade I Listed Building and World Heritage site, Portcullis House, Norman Shaw House and a number of other associated buildings.

The estate comprises approximately 150,000 square metres of space and is occupied by 659 MPs, 750 Peers and all the associated support services to ensure the smooth running of parliamentary business. The House of Commons employs approximately 1700 staff and the House of Lords approximately 475 staff. The estate has over 1.3 million visitors, which continues to increase annually. It is a tremendous honour to be involved with the most iconic of built symbols of our constitutional monarchy and the parliamentary system. ACA have been successful in securing the first project on the framework to refurbish Feildon House.
