| Winchester
House Preparatory School - Art & CDT
Having
completed the Library conversion to the East Wing of the Quadrangle,
Winchester House School decided to convert the West Wing which
was then underused and in need of refurbishment.
A
new Art and CDT Department was identified as a key school need.
The ground floor was designed to provide three linked spaces with
glazed screens providing visual continuity through the suite of
rooms. The staff of the new department played a key role in designing
the facility to ensure the layout met their requirements and appropriate
Health and Safety Guildelines.
The
first floor attic spaces above the Art and CDT were designated
as much needed space for staff. The facilities included a small
flat, computer, resource area, staff room and wcs, cloakroom
and shower room. The refurbished spaces are all well used.
The
project was largely undertaken through a Summer vacation with
minimum disruption to school life.
