Bilton Grange

Completed in just 16 weeks, the scheme used prefabricated timber frame panels and windows, in conjunction with a trussed rafter roof, to produce a series of units configured around a central entrance courtyard. The building sits within the former orchard of the main, Pugin designed school and its successful approval was the result of much consultation with the Local Authority. The building is supported on a raft foundation, which itself sits on the ground, which avoided the need for excessive excavations and trenches, which could have disturbed local archaeology.
