House
The new garden
room at The Malthouse makes the most of the established gardens
in all seasons.
This substantial
listed house is built of local Cotswold stone in a village setting.
The work involved
building adjacent to the boundary wall, which required underpinning,
and the reordering of existing rooms to form a garden/breakfast
room, utility room and shower room.
The entire
heating system was replaced with a cooking and central heating
range which serves the main house and the underfloor heating system
in all of the new rooms.
A particularly
striking feature is the full glazing of the gable end truss.
