Swimming Pool Extension to Lower Farm Barn

The existing converted barn, owned by a private client, is located at the edge of the village conservation area overlooking open countryside. The brief was to provide extensive additional accommodation, including pool, games room, garden and laundry, without detrimental impact on the detached listed barn and its setting.

After detailed analysis of the site and taking account of the impact of any extension, a solution was agreed to be partially subterranean. The result is a contemporary yet sensitively designed extension, with minimal effect on its surroundings.
