Contemporary design for North Oxford house Acanthus Clews obtained planning permission for a new, contemporary family house in an area characterised by large Victorian villa-style houses. The main feature is the front face in a glazed, aluminium-framed two storey curtain walling system that maximises natural light and ventilation. Behind the glazing is an open plan space with double height in the central section. To make full use of the limited space available and to provide the maximum privacy possible, the front of the property has been enclosed by a brick wall in the style of a mews courtyard. Accommodation consists of four bedrooms, all with en suite facilities and one in the form of a self-contained guest flat. |
